I don’t know if you have seen my website last year, but I can tell you it was like a book! Too much text on the homepage only confused people and my bounce rate was enormous! I knew that for a very long time but I just never had a chance to assign some time to my best (obviously) graphic designer because I always gave the clients first priority and always had a stack of website design clients waiting to be next….and so on. But I finally did it. Some clients had to wait longer and it was a struggle but it’s finally live! Not perfect and not all the free seo tools work yet, but I am on it daily making fixes and changes myself when I am not busy with the most important thing to me: my 3 y/o son Jaydon!

I had a web design done about a year ago and now I am learning that there are a lot questions I should have asked my designer. During the design process, SEO was only mentioned in passing, and keywords never came up. Since I’ve been disappointed in the performance of my website, I’ve done a lot of reading and now realize that my site needs help if it is ever going to get a high rank on search engine results pages. I am wondering if I need to redesign my site or if there is some way to take care of SEO now, after the fact, other than some kind of pay per click solution.

Social Marketing with Web Design

I am wondering about social sites like Facebook and Twitter with regard to web design. I have a Facebook page but rarely visit it. Too busy! Plus, I find them more than a little silly. Everyone says social marketing is a great tool for marketing my products, but I just don’t get it. It seems so time consuming, with little guarantee of anything other than time wasted on my part. I wish there were some way to build the so-called power of social marketing into my website design. Is this same as using SEO to make my website work for me or is it different?

A Web Design that Draws Visitors

I need to have a web design to attract customers for my business. Everybody says I have to do it, that I’m missing the boat by not being on the Internet. I have a site with a beautiful web design but the site doesn’t seem to be bringing in any business. I don’t understand what could have gone wrong. I hired the best website design I could find. The company had dozens of designers and the designs in the company’s portfolio were absolutely stunning. So is mine, as a matter of fact. But I only get a few visitors a month. The amount of business I’ve gotten from the website is almost nil. I feel like I’ve been cheated after spending so much. What has gone wrong?

Cheap Web Site vs. Custom Web Design

I need help understanding when an off the shelf web design programme makes sense and when it doesn’t. These seem really economical, but how can I be sure they have all the features of a custom-designed site, especially when it comes to SEO issues? Custom designed sites, on the other hand, are invariably quoted as outrageously expensive. Really, who has thousands of dollars to sink into a website when their business is just starting and there is a payroll to meet and all of the other running expenses without much income coming in yet. And yet, somehow I can’t get rid of the feeling that I might be missing something important by going with a designer who offers ready-made solutions, even if they are tailored to my business needs. I’m already running around like crazy getting my business up and running, and dealing with these issues on top of everything else makes my head spin. Would appreciate feedback from anyone w ho has experience with this.

What’s the Best Web Design to Attract Visitors?

After spending a lot of money on a web design, I have concluded that it was all a waste of money. I type in “buy a car in Sydney” and I can’t even find my site in the Google results. I guess after page 10, I got tired of scanning. This is where I feel the Internet miracle breaks down. Everyone says a website is a must, but there is no good way of determining whether the design you’re about to pay good money for is going to actually work. I really wish someone could decode this mystery. I am very discouraged.

Photos in Web Design

Why do some websites have murky, grainy pictures while with other website designs everything is crisp and clear and inviting? The photographs I gave my designer looked all right when I gave them to my website designer, but the result hasn’t come out at all well. The page loading time is really slow, too, and I’m wondering if that has anything to do with the images and graphics. We spent so much time and effort (and money!) on getting everything to come out just right, but the result is . . . disappointing. Is there something my designer or I didn’t do right?

Looking for a Cheap Web Design

The economy has us in a squeeze. We really need to jump on the internet marketing bandwagon but after speaking to several web designers.
I’m totally frustrated. It seems I need to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars to get the kind of marketing site that we need. They all want to build me a really fancy site with a shopping cart but I don’t think I really need that kind of site. Something like a gallery or portfolio would do maybe. I don’t understand how I’m supposed to pay for a shopping site when I haven’t gotten my business off the ground yet. It seems like a waste of money, and yet, everyone says I have to do this. I need some really good, practical advice about my website design. Is there another way of getting started with this?

Speedy Site with Web Design?

I want to redo my website design, which is looking dated and is slow, but I don’t know if the latter is something that can be fixed by good web design. I recently entered discussions with a web design expert whose work I admire. However, after our last meeting, I felt really disappointed. I have treasured all along while developing my business plans a specific idea of how I want my site to look and feel, to reflect the products we produce and the customers we want to target. The designer said that having a flash intro with a song I love was not a good idea and would keep customers from finding the information they want about our products. I just don’t understand how this could be true. It’s really important that my web design reflect me and what my business is really about.

Could someone explain to me the advantages of a ready made site in web design ? I don’t want to settle for something that looks shoddy or doesn’t work properly—but I have been put off by the costs involved with so-called custom web designs. I am keen to get going in the Internet—should have done it five years ago—but I am put off not only by the costs but by what seems to be the enormous job of getting and maintaining a good rank on search engine pages. I am wondering whether a template design can really be as good as a bespoke design at only a fraction of the cost.

Custom Web Design or Template?

Lately when I do a search for web design (I hope to launch my business online in the next six months), I find a lot of sites offering so-called template or ready-made web designs. When I compare costs with designers of bespoke sites, the difference is huge. I want to believe that it is possible to have an effective but economical website, but if I go with a design out of the box, does this mean I am giving up something? I know it is really important to get the SEO right from the start, so I don’t want to choose a web design that doesn’t take this into account.

I am contemplating commissioning a new web design for my website because the current one never comes up tops in any search engine results pages that I’ve tried: Google, Bing, Yahoo, you name it. My internet savvy friends say that if I want to reach new customers through my web design, then my website has to take me where the customers are—and that means not only Google and Bing but Twitter and Facebook and maybe MySpace. I guess I’m old fashioned. After testing almost every possible ecommece web site content management system out there like Zencart, oscommerce, cubecart, virtuemart from Joomla I have came to the conclusion that my top favorites are Magento. One of the main reasons was the overall design superior template designs available for these carts and the endless possiblilities in the backend that will allow a small business website to grow as big as a Target or Woolworths. Yes Magento is maybe heavy and hard to handle for amatuers so for those people who just need “easy” I would recommend Zencart or Prestashop.
